Do frag plugs prohibit coral growth?

Hello all. I have 2 hammer corals that have barely grown since ive gotten them. Everything else in my tank seems to be doing well. I still have them on frag plugs. Would it help if I attached them directly to my rock work? Thanks in advance.

My parrotfish would agree with you! Most of my hammers and torches are still on plugs and doing great - so you may want to look at lighting, flow and water parameters.

How long have you had your hammers? To be honest, some will grow quicker than others. But, in my own experience I usually see no growth until the coral has settled in the aquarium. This can take weeks to months. If the coral is not happy it will not settle. Has nothing to do with the frag plug.

I have a 32 biocube. Flow in my tank is pretty good. Nitrates are really low almost non existent. So idk.

They were my first corals. So, like 5 months
