Do glued zoas just....not grow?

Mine are glued straight to the rock also.
While this is not epic growth by any means, this is 3 months growth.

I have had Zoas move off plugs once in my tank. So being glued doesn't make a difference in Zoas growing or not

Thank you @zeeGGee. I'm running halide and T5 with 150watt Hamilton 20k bulbs and 4 blue+. The only dosing I do is alkalinity and calcium (aquavitro) and acropower. I feed a lot and run biopellets. Pretty simple setup, nothing fancy.

Sounds like you re blasting them with quite some PAR, i have couple of zoa frags that are sitting on the bottom aswel. But some get smaller, which makes me think i'm not giving them enough light. But on the other side, they grow baby's which conflicts with the light theory i guess ... At the bottom i'm sitting at around 80 par. Wondering, why they get smaller in size.

I've never had a par meter so I don't know how much there actually getting.

I had a rock that I glued 6 zoas directly to the rock, LFS gave them to me as they were just randomly floating around the tank. Took them home, glued them to a rock, and now the rock is covered in zoas. I don't have any original pictures of the rock with just the 6 zoas on it, but I do have a couple progress pictures.

I did the exact thing. As the colony was expensive I asked for some polyps from the lfs. Glued them directly to the rock and now I’m not seeing any growth for past one month. Though they look beautiful and brightly coloured. I just bought 9 polyps.

Glue is not a problem unless you have emerald crabs as your clean up crew. The crab will remove the glued polyps from the disc as the crab tries to remove the algae from the glue, this has happened in my tank several times. Lost a few high end single polyps due to these crabs.
