Do green star polyps go through a budding off process?

When I was looking at my tank I saw what looks like a tiny green star polyp on the left rock structure, it's been in the same spot for a few days now, I have a huge colony of green star polyps on the right rock structure and I was curious as to know if they drop polyps that float around the tank.
