Do hammer corals poop?!

Caught this coming out of my new hammer, it broke off and my shrimp went nuts for it.

Something probably stressed it out. Did you recently change something to the aquarium? Mine did that last week when I added a shot of vinegar by it to kill some aptasia.

I haven’t made any real changes lately. The frag is maybe a week old though. I did give it a piece of mysis yesterday, so I assumed it was excreting what it didn’t eat of it.

I would wait it out. If you notice tissue recession then maybe try an iodine dip but I wouldn't stress it out anymore. See how it acclimates, the coral doesn't look terrible
