WOW! What size tank? And do you have a large assortment of empty shells for them to move to when they outgrow the old ones?

This is just a few of them. Did not get a chance to take a pic when there was double that amount. You can see on the left side where several branches have broken off by these devils.

I would just go with snails, some are sand sifters, some cruise the rocks and glass. There is someone here that has snails only and are all over his tank. Don't get snails until you remove the hermits if you are going that route, especially if you don't have empty shells in your tank.
