Do I cardboard the tank for blackout?

Hi, just another post in my fighting Dino. Now it is time for a blackout. I feel that this will really deal some damage to them. So I was wondering if I should cardboard the tank, or this not good for the fish?

Fish will be fine, imo. I used moving blankets myself. I still turned on lights to feed, then off right after. 3 day blackouts on and off for 3 months took care of ostreopsis for me.

It will not hurt the fish for a some days. Will be interested in hearing your results once its done.

Cardboard will be sufficient. I personally taped large black trash bags followed by blankets on my aquarium to win my battle. I followed the same protocol as Reefer Matt with the three day blackout, lights on for only a few moments to feed, then back off. I also increased my phosphates. Good luck!
