I got a 10 gallon tank with around 13-14 lbs of live rocks in it. Also have a pair of small clowns for the time being. Do I even need to have this job filter on or will the live rock and power head be just fine. I just hate the look of the filter and it doesn’t even seem useful. If not any better options? The tank is on my dresser so I can’t put anything underneath the tank.

A better looking filter like aquaclear. It has a lower profile. Plus the pump is outside of the filter so all you see in the tank is an Intake tube.
Anything that has the pump in the water is gonna be an eye sore.
I’d get an aquaclear 70 or 55. I find on small tanks the bigger the hob filter the more it looks like it is supposed to be there....if that makes sense. It looks like it has more purpose and a big huge part of our hobby is how things look. Again, even with the big aquaclear all you see is the Intakr pipe

I just ordered it! It seems like a way better option over my cheap little hobHow about the Tunze Comline Nanofilter 3161. It is in tank so you won't see it sticking out the top as much.
