Ibought a Fungia coral a few weeks ago and the first few days it was fine and inflated, but now it only inflates when the lights are at minimum or at night when they are off. when they come on in the morning its beautiful, fully inflated, then within about 5 mins its shrunk right back into its skeleton.
Do i have a vampire coral that goes to its rest when the sun comes up.
Anyone got any ideas. Was wondering about putting it in a darker corner of the tank, but all the info about them says they like bright light ???????????????

It’s probably just getting acclimated to the lighting. What par is it getting? I would give it some time and probably put it in a lower light part of the tank.

well had it for a few weeks now. was fine at first and feeding. lighting is chinese black box, only on 50%, dont know par values but all the rest of the corals including acros are happy, i think i will move it to a darker bit
thanks

Definitely too much light. You'd be surprised how much light those black boxes can create. I run one at 20% on one of my tanks.
