When my Long Nose Yellow Butterfly was alive, I never knew I had Aptasia. If someone would ask, I'd say, "No, I have no aptasia." Well, the yellow guy died and now I have aptasia everywhere! Everywhere. I go into the fishroom tonight and right on the front glass is....... an Aptasia!

I'm restocking my tank and you can bet a Long Nose Yellow Butterfly will be on that list....hope he's hungry!

I used boiling water and sprayed them anytime I found one. Checked about once a week for a few months.

That's how this guy went! I microwave a coffee cup of tank water and then use a turkey baster to, well, cook them. The problem I have is too many, with many in and amongst corals.

Yes my Yellow Longnosed Butterflyfish ate one that came on a coral rock, I love that fish, eats anything I offer it, flake food, frozen food and antiparcite caviar.

A slurry of Mrs Wages pickling lime, strategically squirted with a syringe will take them out with extreme prejudice !

Matted filefish

Thanks @jsker , but I'm bothered by their additional potential eating habits of corals.

Your welcome
@redfishbluefish I have had two matted filefish in my system for over a year, one went carpet surfing and I replaced the first one. I have not had any issue with coral nipping. They love frozen mysis and nori;)

I had horrible experience with a Filefish, I ended up losing 1 hammer and 2 torch corals due to nipping, acans took a hit as well.

It's luck of the draw with them. I'm going to try Bergia's next.
