Do I have red bugs?

Could I place the acro crab in my birdsnest colony and put it in a 5 gallon qt tank with my other crabs? Birdsnest doesn't get the red bugs so it wouldn't need to be treated anyways right?

It doesn't mean that they might not be on the birdsnest and you risk re-infecting your tank. You are supposed to let the interceptor treated water circulate through all your equipment. You might get lucky or you might not if you don't treat it.

Plan B I remove the birdsnest and place acro crab inside for 3 weeks. I then replace acro crab into his green granulosa colony after it has been treated. Then I treat the birdsnest and the QT tank once all the crabs have been replaced in the main tank. Will the acro crab like the birdsnest though?

I am beginning treatment today either at 6:00 and doing water change and new carbon tomorrow morning at six, or I will be starting at midnight and doing water change and carbon tomorrow afternoon. Does it matter?
I have got my acro crab in my birdsnest colony which is in a frag tank, with all other crabs and hermits that I could catch besides the porcelain (hopefully he will survive). I plan to return all crabs in 2 weeks from today, then I will treat the frag tank.

Plan first treatment 9/18
Second treatment 9/26
Third treatment 10/2

Anyone think of any changes?

I will be taking pictures of the coral infected at each treatment to look for improvement and post when finished.

I think all the red bugs are dead, I just see some white specks on the coral that they were on. Is this normal? The good news is it looks like my porcelain crab survived the first treatment. The bad news is I cant find my acro crab in the qt tank. I went looking for him this afternoon and he is not in the birdsnest colony I put there for him. Instead my emerald crab was in it, Im guessing it scared the little guy off. I hope he survives somewhere else for another 2 weeks.

UPDATE: I finished red bug treatment awhile back. I used alittle less than the recommended dose three times over the space of three weeks. My coral have recovered full PE from redbugs, and color is slowly returning. I left my porcelain crab in the tank while treating, and he lived through each treatment with no visible problems. I did loose a peppermint shrimp, but I don't feel so bad, because he had a taste for my acans. I have also seen a surge in pods returning from die off. I believe that using the recommended dose or a little less is the way to go with interceptor, and if done properly it is not something to fear pods will recover, and some inverts seem to do just fine.

Tank is 75 gallons total
-I used 7/8 of a small dose for 10 lb dogs 11-25 tablet#
-I removed venturi airline from skimmer, so that water flowed in the skimmer
-I did a 10 gallon water change 12 hours later
-I replaced my acro crab at about 24 hours after treatment each time, and he is doing just fine still

If you have any questions about interceptor I would be more than happy to answer them from what I have learned from my experience.

Thankyou all for your help, you have made one reef a little better :)
