Do I have too much biological filtration?

It is a 120g. standard.
In the display there is 40lbs of Live Rock for KP Aquatics
In the sump there is 2 gallons of Matrix and 10 liters of Spiorax
With the matrix, I added a bottle of Dr Tims one and only.

The tank is only a few months old. (Restart , all acros died about 3 months ago).
The corals that I brought over (that survived the crash) are doing good except the Torch and a frag of Duncan that I bought during transition. The water is probably just too clean right now. I may have to hand feed them.

The question is if you think I have too much biological filtration. The common thing I read is that you could never have too much biological filtration because your system will not have more bacteria that is need. However, I thought I saw a thread that said that the person had to remove some of the filtration, I think it was Siporax.

U can not over filter a fish tank.
Ppl will say they bottom out nitraites and phosphates but it's likely undetectable and used as needed rather than being 0...

Ppl have pit protein skimmers or algae turf scrubber on timers to adj

Adjust nutrient levels as well.

IMO there is no such thing as too much biological filtration. If the biological filtration keeps your nutrient levels too low then just use that as a reason the feed more. Feeding more will keep your fish happy and it’ll raise nutrients which will help with corals.

I'll up the feeding a bit and watch. The ugly phase came in for about 2 weeks and is subsiding. Some of the coralline is starting to grow back on the live rock.
