Do i leave it like that?

I made a closed loop for my uv to the main display tank. And the pipes were short so the pump does not touch the bottom of the tank. So i put a piece of sponge under it. Do you guys suggest me to leave it like that? Or should i do soft tubing to pvc at the bottom? The pump is not sucking water from the sump its just the placement is there because i didnt have place for it outside.

It should be fine. You may want to replace the sponge with a silicone pad at some point (less maintenance).
