Hey, i just wanted to hear if i need or have forgotten something.

For my tank cycling i've decided to use 25% mature water and 75% water from the north sea.
10kg of bought live sand and then i will supply it with rinsed sand from the beach aswell.
I'm also making a scape out of live rock of course.

Im just gonne put it all in so it looks nice, put a powerhead in, put some filterballs, and maybe a sponge in. Just to cycle it.

Is there anything i miss? And what is your opinions on using the stuff from the ocean?

Greetings from Denmark :)

Howdy
Sounds like a good plan.
With the sea being cold, if you are planning on a tropical tank, a lot of die off might happen as your rock is full of cold water creatures and other stuff.

Hi, i am bying the rocks. So everything right now is set to 26C as it should be. So i should be fine, right?

Sounds like your plan is solid; however, I would not personally use sand from a beach. It may feel nice between your toes, but it could potentially contain some nasty silicates and pollutants that may harm the long term success of your tank. That is just my personal opinion.

But sand is so dang expensive haha. Do you think 1okg /22lbs of live sand would be enough for 58 x 51 cm / 20 x 22.8 inches??
if 10kg is enough, im just gonna skip the beach sand¨

Nice, with the replys :)

I would agree with you-sand is pricey!

Honestly, the amount of sand you want to put in is all a personal preference.

Welcome to R2R ! I don't think You missed anything . You mentioned " stuff from the ocean " I don't know what You want to use .The water will be fine but any rock will have cold water animals on & in it. This won't make it in a warmer water of a reef tank. Other wise You got Man, keep going ! Please keep us informed !

Yea, but if you're going to have sand, you at least need to have a little bit so there is no spots where its gonna fly around and make the bottom appear. So just wondering if it would be enough to say, cover the bottom with 1 inch :)
