hi all,
im going to move to a bigger tank and my now one is an aio so i dont use a protein skimmer but i was wondering if i should get one, the tank will be a rs250 or rs200
thanks for the help

The tanks you mentioned have sumps designed with skimmer in mind, no?
If so,,, yes,,, why not?

I run a 40 gallon tank with no skimmer and a bunch of space constraints.
Skimmerless works fine for me but if it were reasonably easy for me to use one, I would.

As above, it will oxygenate & allow easier control of nutrients via removed organics.
It also facilitates carbon dosing if that's a route you want to go down in future

it can make it easier to keep your water oxygenated and low in nitrate and phosphates, but it is not strictly necessary.
I second this.
Always nice to have one but not necessary by any means.
Always nice to be able to pull some nutrients out and also REALLY HELPS with oxygenation for the creatures.
Also you can make a co2 scrubber and hook it to your protein skimmers air intake to help boost your ph which in turn will help you grow corals
