So I'm a fairly newbie when it comes to marine saltwater reef keeping and have my first tank. I decided stump up the money for the large jbl pro aquatest lab that covers nearly everything in terms of levels.
The only ones it doesn't cover which are the following and do you think its worth buying individual kits for any of these and how much do u feel would actually be used?
they are

Co2 if there is even a test for this one?
IRON
IODINE
STRONTIUM
POTASSIUM
BORON
ORGANIC (the one only done by salifert)

The only one I would buy is potassium and salifert makes the best hobby one in my opinion. However, I use it since I don very very very few water changes and have a refugium that I believe is the main consumer of it in my tank.

Get an air quality meter for co2. For you and the family and the tank.
Ph is a good indicator of co2 level in tank room.
I can tell by ph level when kids are watching a movie, tank is in media room.

and how much does cheapest co2 meter cost on average and do u have a link please to what type you are referring to as I'm not sure exactly.

I wouldn't get test kits for any of those.

You only need to test Salinity, Alkalinity, Calcium , Nitrate and Phosphate.
Rarely you may need to test Magnesium.

Best to leave anything else to an ICP test
Well I've got all them I invested in the big jbl professional aquatest kit which covers majority of all tests.

I would not believe the 7.4. At that low of a level, you start to dissolve your sandbed which would buffer the water bringing it back up to a safe range.

I would get a second test, and/or opinion on that PH. Apex probes are not reliable regardless of how you calibrate them.
What? Who are you talking to?

If you quarantine your fish expect to get yourself a digital Copper test (Hanna). I see the kit you have has a test for it, but be prepared to find the tests very very hard to eyeball to the level of accuracy you need to maintain effective copper levels without overdosing. Try it out once you get set up - if the test you have works then great, but there’s a good chance you’ll want the digital one.
