Hi all, i need your guideance on how to keep my tank can last long without crash an old tank syndrome later. So this tank is just 8 months old, but i think i must prepare to keep everything in correct parameter so my tank will not crash. So here is my parameter, all test using salifert, but i dont have PO4 test kits so i dont know what is my PO4, i will buy it soon, but i think it will be low enough since i dont have green algae and diatoms in may MT, the only green hair algae is in the very top that expose to the light very near, and it is the pvc return pump and the wave maker cable. And i have a constant production of caulerpa serulata and chaeto, that trim regularly from my refugium.
SG - 1.021-1.022
CA - 380
Alk - 7
Mag - 1380
No3 - 0 (but i dont know exactly since salifert only have color with big gap between number, but my color is white/clear)

Dosing regulary about once every one or two week.
Strontium - As dosage (1 every 1 or 2 week)
Seachem Reef Plus - as dosage (1 every 1 or 2 week)
Iodine - below dosage as i dont have test kits and i heard that iodine can be dangerous if too much. (1 every 1 or 2 week)
Iron - very seldom, as i saw if i dosage this, my green algae are also more flourish and create some spot of red cyano, and the red cyano will disappear after several days.
Molybdenum - as dosage (1 every 1 or 2 week)

Just recently i bought the Seachem Fusion 1 and 2 to raise a bit of my Ca and Alk. But, is it good if for ex my SG is still 1.021/22 but my Ca is 400 and alk is 9? If we refer to randy calculator to have 9 dkh, my balance Ca must be 425 ppm. But i dont have a clue what will happen if i set 9 dkh (so my ph will be more constant) with only let say 380-400 Ca?

I dont keep SPS, and my caulerpa in my DT is always undercontrol and trim regularly and only once going asexual (am i correct ?) in a little area, and the caulerpa is put there by my will, because i like the nature of green look in DT. I keep the SG a bit low which most keep for a FOWLR, but so far for 8 months all the coral are keep full expand and especially the Xenia are propagated creating several new branches which i think i must trim and give to my friend, even they spread new colony in my sandbed. The green star polips, are start with small colony and now its already spread to much bigger area, my mushroom anemone are divide themselves so i have several new mushroom. The coral sandbed are much cover with coraline algae, also my wavemaker and my side glass.
Question is :
1. Do i need to up my SG, since up SG mean use a lot more salt and cause more money to spend.
2. I heard that the tank still need no3 and po4, so what will happen if assuming my no3 is 0 and my po4 also 0 or at very low value? what will happen to coral?
3. I have tons of copepods, amphipods and other tiny pods. Is this dangerous if no fish eat them, so their population is blooming? Do i need to put a mandarin to control the pods legiun?
4. So base on my coral which only softies and hard coral with no SPS, what is the best economical range value to keep, so i do not need to spend a lot of money to boost the parameter to the max value.

Thank you very much.

i'd look into raising your nitrates. having them at 0 is a recipe for dinoflagellates and starving coral in the long run, especially for softies. i'd feed more, cut back on filtration, or dose something to raise nitrates and possibly your phosphates since those should be slightly above 0 too.

and stability is much more important than numbers in the long run. i'd just try to keep everything exactly where it is since all your parameters look pretty good to me.

best of luck with your reef, it's beautiful :)
