Do I need to use prime with rodi

A friend of mine just set up his RODI and has been using tap water treated with prime. he asked me if he needed to use dechlorinator. This made me

You do not need to add prime and i would not, RODI is pure water. There is nothing else in it but H2O, adding anything but salt is not needed and could be bad.

No. The carbon stage of the RO/DI removes the chlorine.
