Do I neeeed a Protein Skimmer??

Like do I really neeeed it?
It's a personal choice. Once you see the gunk they extract from the water column, for me at least, it was clearly something I wanted to keep going with. If you have FOWLR tank, you would probably be fine without it. but for corals, and other inverts, to me, it is a must.

You need to play around with the adjustment. I like to dry skim. You waste less water that way, and do not risk it overflowing. The skimmate is still wet, don't be fooled by the word "dry". It is just a lot thicker, and smellier. Bu the benefit is tremendous.

I have 2 systems running with no skimmers. Keep up on your water changes and you will be fine.

Short answer no. Long answer no not really. I run three tanks but only have one skimmer running. It skims dry and never fills up.
If yours was filling up too fast maybe set it to skim dryer. Also I've had skimmers that needed to be raised up or they would overflow. For me it's a bit of trial an error setting them up. My last skimmer had to be raised so it was only five inches deep or it would overflow. Recommended depth was 7-9 inches.
