Do I raise Po4 to lower N03

My nitrates are 10/12 mg/l ( salifert/redsea) and phosphate 0.012mg/l ( hanna ). I have an algae reactor with chaeto ( ALR1 ) not much growth seen in a month. Plan to use red seas NoPox but Do I need to raise Po4 for it to work.

How old is your system? IMHO if it is new you would be better off using the algae reactor. NOPOX is very effective at keeping the levels down but it just seems to work better in a more established system.

Currently I have a Reefer 425xl which was an upgrade from a reefer 250. I carried across 25kg of rock & 2 litres of siporax, when I transferred to bigger tank I used 75-80% new water so diluted No3 down to current level. No sand btw.
Rsr 250 running 5 months before upgrade 1 month ago.

What is your goal? Why are you running a macroalgae reactor and considering dosing organic carbon? Your values are right about where most people want to be. What is it about your nutrients that you want to change?

FWIW, low phosphate is more likely to limit macroalgae uptake of nitrate than it is to limit nitrate reduction by organic carbon dosing.

That said, those current numbers look OK to me and I wouldn't make changes just to lower nitrate.
