I had a Diamond Goby jump through a small opening and a Red Head Solorensis Wrasse jump while I had the lid open during feeding.

Both times had occurred in front of me, fortunately they both were quickly recovered and placed back in with no issues.

You just never know.

Unless you have a short stand or are really tall then you may not like the look. Lol

Hi i am gonna get the 300XL Reefer tank (65g), and will get some basic fish - clowns, gobies, blennies, some wrasses, etc. Would i need a lid? I know i probably need a lid for the wrasse, however are there any wrasses that don't jump? Also I would appreciate any other ideas for stocking a 65g peaceful mixed reef!

In addition to keeping your fish in the tank, a lid will also keep your SNAILS in the tank too! Mine love to climb up the glass and hang on the underside of the lid (a net top, BTW). I have 2 cut-outs in the top where my light rail mounts to my tank, and I usually find a snail or two that manage to escape through the gap every so often.

Bottom line is....listen to Canucks.... ;)
