Do I use PVC glue on these pieces??

Hello all...quick question. If I decide to stay with this return setup, do I glue all the grey pick and the black or ??

Also, the 2nd pic with the valve is part of the drain, is this valve ok to use and ok to glue all this as well?

It's hard to tell what that is I'm sorry it's not a usual looking piece. That being said any pipe that fits into a connector gets glue in my book.

You ask about the valve that's on the return/drain, yes it's fine. Allot of people me including like gate valves on the return/drain for better adjustment. But that works just fine !
