I was lazy and cheap by trying to save a few bucks. I used GE silicone for a sump build. Let it cure for just over a week and hooked it up. 2 hours later everything was dead. Including most of the rock... BIG mistake. I rebuilt the sump using aqueon. I only let it sit for 5 days and hooked it up and with the help of prime and stability my tank is already recycled with a little damsel and rock flower anemones who survived the crash... Just wanted to say that if you are planning on doing repairs or installing baffles, USE AQUARIUM SILICONE!! they are not the same and most silicones say not for aquariums for a reason.

Yeah, things like that need to be reposted periodically….there are a few gotchas like that: 55gals are tempered, silicone formulas change, label transparency, et

I was just venting because I'm still a little upset. I wanna blame GE but I can only blame myself haha.. I posted this because if I did it, I'm sure there will be more who will not use the right stuff and experience a crash. Crashes are sad and it sucks seeing people go through them. I even lost my ritteri who I had for over a year :(
