Do LED lights eventually need to change?

Ironic. The Kessil 360WE is the light that I found that does not generally last for 5 years …. At least, they have not for me. Most failed within 3 years. I replace d them with the 360x, which has done better, but still not great. My Radion G4 pros have been much more enduring.
Really? I had some of my a360s for over 4 years then sold them off, they ran great the entire time. I had over 6 of them at one point, and none ever failed. Maybe a quality control issue?

I have to say I’ve owned kessils, ecotechs, AIs, reefbrites, and orpheks, and ironically the only nes that have failed on me so far were the Orpheks. I’ve purchased over 7 Orphek or3 bars over the last 3 years, and had two crap out on me after a year.

I have a Hydra 26 and now my power supply looks like it went out. Do you need to replace the lights eventually? What would be a good replacement light? I have a red sea max e 170.
If you like the 26 and its results get a 32hd. Want more spread and power run 2.
Radions, 3 xr15's or 1 30.
Another good option RB's Photon 24 for quite a bit less.
I Run 2 on my main display and 3 Xr15's g5 blues on my 50g for proper par.
Current 50, 30×24×16.

Same

But I have had phone chargers pop like that, usually the fast charging ones

I would definitely get a new power supply for the light, though

I don't think it would be all that hard to get a new one with the same ratings
I found one it's a little more amps though. I don't think it matters because device is going to pull what it needs correct? Current power supply 36V 2.5A one I found 36V 3A. I do think it matters more with voltage. Power supply rating is max voltage and amps, I think I am correct lol

Op tank is just under 24”. It’s like just outside the range for a xr15.

I was going to suggest a photon 24, but it’s so close. Might be perfect or might be a half inch too big for the mounting legs

Xr30 is good for the tank but a ton of money

I would say get the power supply for 30$ and see if it fixed the issue. If not just return it to Amazon

You have this on hand?

Yes as long as voltage is correct and amps is equal or greater. The light will pull what it needs

Also assuming the barrel connector is the same

Amps are pulled

Not pushed

Like a car battery, you can put a bigger one in, if it fits

I remember reading somewhere that any LED after it's initial "burn in" maintains roughly 85%-90% of its brightness until it eventually fails

I read they very gradually they decrease over 6-8 years and by then you have about a 10-15% reduction in output and you compensate by increasing the channels to resume prior par, and then you can get a few more years out of them until they fail

8-10 years is an incredible amount of life to get out of any product especially a light, and by the time it’s dead the tech is probably improved so much you’d want to buy a new light anyway just to get the new features
