For the past year I've always had a low alkalinity between the range of 7.8 and 6.4, but never worried since my tank was with soft corals only. But two months ago I bought my first SPS corals and I havent been able to raise my alkalinity above 8.7, and keeps dropping to 7.2 - 7.8. So I havent noticed any good growth. I dose Reef builder by Seachem 25 grams per week (12.5 on tuesdays and 12.5 on fridays).
