Do Mushrooms kill sps?

Yes. My sps grow up to the mushrooms but won't grow over them. Looks like the shroom kills the leading edge of the sps but not the whole colony. I'll get an example pic if I can.

This is a Montipora spongodes that grew towards a blue shroom. The monti is trying to grow around the shroom but the edge that touches it looks dead or at least injured.

I think they are pretty toxic. I had 2 torches within 3-4 inches of a BABY shroom. I didn't think anything of it, I mean it is a SHROOM. Both torched died. The ENTIRE colony. Only think I can blame it on is the shroom. I plan on placing an elegance by the shroom. CORAL WARS!!! Darn shrooms!

Shrooms can kill just about anything they come into contact with. I'm fighting a battle of my own with shrooms. Still haven't found a safe way to rid my tank of these pests :(
