Do new frag plugs soak up alkalinity?

I just fragged about 50 zoas and it seems like now my alkalinity is nose diving. I am storing the new Frags in my DT until the person who is buying them gets them. Could it be that that number of new frag plugs in my 13.5 gal DT is making my alkalinity drop?

A very high amount , probably not- some alk -yes.

Thank you. I think because my Nano has such a small water volume and so many frags are coming out of it it is disproportionately high volume of frag plug material.
I wonder if ceramic frags are betteras opposed to aragonite
