So,do fish care about Ca & alk levels?
How about nutrient levels ?
what about the cuc?
I know if nutrient levels get low or high can lead to algae issues etc. I have a 180 tanks with 5 fish & a 75 with 2 fish & corals. The 75 is terrible ate up with algae & I need to concentrate mt efforts to get all levels stable & battle this algae. Thanks for any OP'S ,Brian.

Hi Brian,
Fowler tanks don't often really need to worry about alk/ca and other trace elements, beyond keeping them generally in check, as you say, to prevent any issues. Assuming you have live rock with some coralline on them, they will uptake some level of CA/Alk, but I'm not sure that is something that would really be enough of a concern to set up automated dosing for... Unless you really want your tank to be covered in the stuff, in which case keeping the levels proper can help drive towards that.

(Caveat; I've never had a fowler tank that wasn't a QT tank, so - grain of salt, here... <grin>)

thank You for the reply's . I started dosing this tank because a buddy was threatening to give me a real nice long tentacle anemone . Now he's cleaning it up. so I started to wonder why I was even messing with it.

Thanks Randy,so I gotta keep an eye on C & Alk . I thought I'd start using Kalkwasser via the ato again & see where that takes me .
