As the title says, do I have to have the lights constantly connected to reeflink in order for the lighting routine to work?

Basically, if I lose internet connection do the lights not come on or is the programming stored in the lights until changed?

Nope. The program is stored in the light. The reef link is just to talk to the light when you want to.

sweet. Just wanted to make sure I didn't lose my lights if I lost internet. I assume the same parameters can be adjusted via USB as well then.

Reef links is a waste of money [emoji383]
How often are you planning on changing your lighting schedule? Better to leave it at one setting then to constantly play with it

As others have said, once the lights are programmed they’re good to go (they even auto adjust for daylight savings). Whether a reeflink is worth the $100 or so is a personal decision. In my case, I’ve six across my system (plus a vectra pump) so it’s worth the cost to me. The process of having to physically connect each to my computer seems impossibly tedious.

I only have two Radions and I also love the Reeflink. It got old pulling out a laptop and connecting with a USB cable anytime I wanted to modify anything. You wouldn't think you would need to after they are initially setup but I am always tweaking it.
