Do red sponges have fan like tentacles?

as it says, do red tree sponges have xenia looking polyps come out that are white and decently long.
I moved the sponge just now cause it had gotten taken off by the flow so it retracted a bit but if you look it has all these white arms coming out of it.
Im like what the heck i dipped you. So yea wondering if they do that?

this thing also doubled over night
It was cute little strawberry when i got it yesterday. Now it grew a tall bump and widen over the rock its on. Didnt think they grew this quick

It probably inflated when placed in your tank. The white parts could be another type of sponge but it’s hard to tell from the pic.

Do the white parts look like polyps? There are several species of zoanthids that have a symbiotic relationship with sponges, usually deemed as being parasites. They will cover the sponge and make it almost look like an LPS coral, an extreme example is often called "Aussie spider sponge." The zoanthid that do this can vary in size and coloration.

The pic is so hard to see, that I wouldn't be comfortable saying that is the definitive ID for it though.

I knew i should have was changed settings
Anyway okay should i chuck it then or just see what happens
Lights are about to go off. Thats when it shows its polyps

Are they supposed to be hard

Blue ridge would be my guess also. Sponge generally dont have polyps

If it doesn't have a "spongey" texture, for the lack of better words, and doesn't really give in at all - it probably isn't a sponge as others have been saying. I'm also not even sure if I know of any sponge can even change size so drastically. The polyps are going to be the dead giveaway, only way a sponge could possibly have polyps is that there are zoas growing on it, otherwise its definitely not a sponge.

I just got home from a outta town work trip for a week.
It hasnt done much since i moved it more outta the light cause i was leaving.

Well now i dont want it lol

If it's indeed an NPS coral then you will need to feed it to keep it alive.

It's not in natural light to determine what it is period but I didn't read the complete replies, it may be a carot Coral. Vietnam origin. Very nice

Leptophyton is also a possibility but that’s pretty rare. It’s unlikely to survive. They been a dedicated set up. Talk to dr dendro.

Paraminabea is a possibility. I have photos of those and they have that shape. Come in orange yellow red and pink with white. Another super rare one.

Okay i can take one of it itll just be red thou. It brings its polyps out at night.
