Anyone that has a rock anemone, can you give your experience with them wandering or not. I would love to get some but not if they move like BTA. I already accepted the fact that I can't have a BTA due to them moving. Some of the sites say "tend not to wander" but we all know how that goes.

Thanks!

I had a few in my fuge for a while, they moved all over the place, but always stayed low, on the glass or on the few pieces of rock I had in there.

That's what I was worried about. I plan on having more lps on the bottom and I didn't want it moving all over and stinging them. Thanks. I might have to go with some tube anemones.

While they may wander initially, in my experience, its all about the light. Once they find a spot that provides sufficient lighting, they generally don't move, unlike BTAs that simply move apparently because the feel like it. So if you put it in a spot that recieves adequate lighting, they won't wander. I would place the nem, first, let it find its happy spot, then place the LPS around it.

My experience is also the same as Scopus Tang. After they find a spot they will stay put until you change something about it.

The rock anenomies I had were very small and they multiplied quickly and did wander around over time- nothing fast though. I ended up getting rid of all of them since they were going to wipe out some of my nearby corals.

Mine multiplied and moved all the time. They would take out SPS at random.

mine has not moved from exactly where i put him. After his foot found sand and rock he was good..

I have 3 for about 2 years, one has wandered to 3 different areas, one has moved 2 times and the other has not moved. I have had no problems with them bothering any corals.

I purchased one last week and surrounded it on the sandbed with rubble and snail shells and it hasn't moved. Interestingly, it pulled all the rubble/shells around its body. I would like to get another one in a different color.

Thanks for the input! I think I may give them a try. When I setup the new tank, I may put them in first and then transfer the coral after I'm sure they settled.
