Was wondering where my five shrimp have gone? Two peppermint, two cleaners, one coral banded. Have not seen them or their corpses . Was wondering if this is normal? Anybody have input? Thanks Rob

This is Really strange all of them would come out when feeding. They would feed from my hands. I'm afraid their dead, but I think I would have found at least 1of the body's. My fish are healthy and water parameters are fine, corals fine

What you might have found is there molts
Peppermint shrimp will hide out till dark for sure when your lights go out get a flashlight you'll spot them

The two cleaners are about eight months old. peppermints are about a year and the coral band it is about 3 months. I did introduce a couple new fish yellow tang dottyback purple pseudochromis two cardinals and a Foxface hogfish

No I didn't find anything that's what bothers me I would think I would have found a corpse by now

Dottyback may be the culprit.
Also I would check your Iodine. If you did loose all of them it can be from low Iodine and failed molts.

Shrimp can definitely be elusive, but they can also be tasty. Cleaners and coral banded both have long tentacles which usually help give them away when they are hiding. I had/have a fire shrimp that I see twice a year.

Hogfish? Most hogfish will eat any shrimp. Or it's at least keeping them in hiding.
I'm sorry it wasn't a hogfish, it's a Foxface rabbitfish which I just looked up and it says they are kind to all and reef tanks. Starting to think that the pseudochromis is might be making the shrimp hide

Yes they can hide when molting. They can also kill one another while molting. Also shrimp corpses don’t hang around too long. Any other inverts in the tank dead or missing?
