Silly question - I have a Tomini tang & a baby Blue Hippo tang in my ProClear ProStar 150. They will literally eat anything I throw in there, but they do get Reef Veggies on a clip every other day. I feed a mixture of frozen, pellets and flakes (not all at the same time) to keep everyone in the tank happy.
I do sometimes give them Spirulina Brine shrimp cubes because I already have them on hand for my Ruby Red Dragonette pair who are in another tank. (They LOVE them, btw!). I was just wondering though if anyone has any opinions on whether the amount of Spirulina in these cubes actually has any benefit for the tangs?

Not sure but I would also love to know about the different foods my tangs would benefit from!

Why wouldn't they? Good source of protein and vitamins and minerals. I feed spirulina flakes a few times a week (all tank inhabitants eat their share), buy frozen brine sheets with spirulina, and have some powder I add when I feed freeze dried foods. All in all, I feed my tank 2-3 times a day and 1/3-1/2 those meals have spirulina in it.

My opinion yes. I feed mine Spirulina Brine everyday.

That's why I said it was probably a silly question, LOL. I also feed mine Spirulina flakes & for some reason, I feel like there's just more algae in those. Maybe it's just the consistency throwing me off. I also find it odd how the Hikari cubes will kind of dye your fingers if you hold onto them too long. You have a good point though!
