Do these rock flower anemones look okay ?

I just had these 3 RFA shipped yesterday and I’m afraid I hurt them by not acclimating them long enough. I usually do it for an hour but since they were shipped, I was afraid it would do more harm to leave them in the bag for long so I dropped them after about 15 minutes.

They’re my first RFA so I am not sure what to expect.

I noticed the orange one has a little browning on its polyps. This morning I fed them, hoping it would help them but none of them ate (frozen mysis).

I hope they don’t die. What do you think, do they look okay ?

Comparable to mine and at times they shrink or come out Wide open.

They look good to me. Seems like their foot is attached, no gaping mouths, etc.

Looks like they are just hanging out. Try feeding them in a few days after they’ve had time to adjust a little longer.

They look fine. I would never feed nems the day after being shipped. Give them time to settle in.

Yeah, I’m still learning. I won’t make that mistake again.

Those look great, i plop and dropped 14 into my tank with no acclimation a few months back and they are doing great. These are hardly little guys.

I have one that has been through bubble algaepocalypse, was out of the tank for 25 minutes and I forgot about it when I put the rock back in so it was under the rock with no light. It has now moved back up and is doing great lol.

They look fine. I’ve bought a few locally but have four that came in two shipments. I float for 30 minutes and place them on the rock. They are very hardy.

There are different points of view on the issue, but as a general rule of thumb you should avoid dipping nems.

Dipping corals is good, but for nems you can usually just float to temp, leave them somewhat exposed for a few minutes so they expel whatever water they are holding from the shipping bag, and in they go!

I would never dip a nem. I meant for corals.

Exposed to what? The air? What is the worry with the water they might have in them?

Yeah, exposing them to the air for a couple minutes. They have water in them from the shipping, so sometimes if they’ve been in the bag for a long time (a particularly long trip) I’ll just see if they’ll spit out some of that nastier water before putting them in.

I've honestly never acclimated anything including RFA s. I just drop everything in the water and it's sink or swim time essentially.

I wish I had the guts to do that ! I miss 2 minutes of my acclimation goal and I feel like I am sending the fish to its death bed, lol !

My LFS is 2 miles away and keeps the same salinity as me.

But anything that has ever been shipped I just drop in the tank. Never had problems.
