I have a tank that has its overflows located on both ends of the tank. The tank is viewable from both sides so a "see through" tank. The acrylic is 1 inch thick. My question is, does anybody know of a completely waterproof, wave maker that I can submerge both the mount/and motor? Like completely waterproof as to avoid having to install a wavemaker on the outside of the viewable sides of our tank with an unsightly cord being exposed etc. I cannot say I have seen such a thing or a workaround. Thoughts?

You can’t mount it on the back wall?

Maybe this little sketch will help explain more clearly what I am looking to do.

If no replies here give you an answer you could pick out a couple brands and contact the manufacturers. You want to be absolutely sure it can be done safely and not void any warranties or be a fire/electrical hazard. Also, if it's not meant to be submerged and you do you might find it doesn't work properly or just breaks in a couple weeks.

Yes, that's why I came here first. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has a tank with this type of setup. Worst case I can get oversized pumps and turn them up a bit.

If this was a forethought, you could have gone with closed loops from the bottom and forget the wires. Just hide the pipes in the aquascape. Probably something you would have wanted to decide before filling the tank though…. Ha.

you can get an acrylic box for the dry side of a vortech. I’ve seen people do it but I forgot who.

Jebao pumps. Cheap, reliable, can change direction, speed and pattern.

Do they still make wavemakers with the big suction cups?? I have a couple old ones and they can go anywhere... Still have the cord coming out the top of the tank though
They do, I have a few cheapies around for pre mixing salt for waterchanges.

Coming out the top of the tank is fine, I can route the cords where they cannot be seen. I just don't want them on the front of the glass.

Any Wavemaker that doesn’t have external motor. So literally anything except vortech. I kinda like the Nero 3 or 5 and the power cord is small and could be run right up the overflow.
