In the past year I have been slowly selling my soft coral off to make room for new sps that I have been collecting.
I had a rock with hundreds of simple brown Polyps and two colt coral that I have had since day one .
Not fancy coral but a nice large rock with mature coral growing .

I have been wanting to sell this rock for a while now but wanted to give it to a fellow hobbyist for cheap rather then get store credit from LFS.
today the opportunity came and I sold this rock with the corals for 100 bucks to a fellow hobbyist .
I put the coral in a bucket and off it went .

So now I am home looking at my tank and I feel the void .I don't have remorse for selling so cheap because I did want to make room in my tank.
when u grow from a small frag to a colony u become attached.
I'm sad it's gone but Im glad it went to a good home where it will be well taken care of.

Any stories where u sold or traded some coral and regretted it afterwards ?

I just sold a orange monti that was growing into a purple monti that also had a colony of star polyps and 2 colonies of zoas on it. Overall piece measured 28"x18" and I sold it for $100. Crazy stupid deal but I'm making room for more clams and it was taking up a lot of room

Nice monti.
That must have been tough to let go.
At least u have more room for something even nicer to grow in that spot.

All the time.

But a tank is never really done. This is part of the growing and expanding and changing. Just like a garden, things can be "seasonal." Before you know it you'll have that spot filled with something you like even more, and a year will pass very quickly. I try not to get too attatched to anything, but that's hard.
