So who else here trains their fish?
For me it isn't about getting them to do circus tricks (although thats a fun idea.) I have trained almost all of mine to swim into a net "on command" just in case I ever need / want to remove them from my 200 gal mixed reef display tank WITHOUT having to tear it apart, which would be next to impossible with the amount of rock and coral!
The "command" I started teaching them a few weeks back. Whenever I feed them frozen food I put it in a net and make them come to the net to eat. Therefore associating the net as a good thing. At first, id just let a little float out and they would have to come close to get some to eat. Now, they literally fight each other to swim into the net to eat! They even see me get the net and they get excited cause they know they about to get fed, versus being scarred of it and hiding.
This has worked on almost all my fish and I "catch" and release them daily. Except for the Mystery Wrasse which is just too smart for his own good!
Anyone else do this?

In particular my file fish will pin himself in the corner of his tank closest to the refrigerator when he hungry and give me those googly eyes something fierce and ...I ....cannot.... resist
