I have a mixed reef w softies, lps, and sps and was thinking of dosing amino acids. My tank has no problems, great parameters, and all my corals have great color and growth, but was thinking of experimenting...can you let me know your experience w amino acids if you have tried or are currently dosing. Color? Growth? Thanks!

ya i do the pro skimmer and amino acids from elos. It does seem to increase my sps growth, I havent noticed much difference with lps and soft corals though

Thanks for the info. Also when u dose, do you turn skimmer off for a while, or continue to let it run? I noticed when I dosed, the skimmer produced a lot of waste so I'm thinking that maybe turning skimmer off for a bit will give them time to absorb aminos.....

Only dosing to see if I can get colors to pop cause I switched my lighting and they lost a little bit of color. Not gonna create a habit out of it. Im a firm believer less is always better.

NO algae grow and yes I use it. But for the OP I would say that if it ain't broke don't fix it! So many things go wrong when we try to improve what is already good in this hobby. . . . just saying

2 tsp every 3 days AA for me. my growth and color on my sps, zoas and LPS are great!
