I’ve been struggling with nitrogen and phosphate spikes. I wonder what you all feed your corals. I feel my coral food and I think it is leading to my spikes in nitrogen and phosphates.

I use reef energy and live phyto. I have drastically overdosed reef energy without any spikes (usually I see some cyano on a dead sps branch on one colony but that's it). I also add vitachem and continuum omega 3 and hufa additive to fish food

I mostly do this for my large feather dusters, flame scallop, and microfauna.

Only fish poop. Has worked out pretty well.

I spot feed Benepets to all of my corals. Usually twice a week Once when I get home at the end of my work week and again before I leave at the start of the next work week. In between is water change day. Usually on Sunday afternoon.

I can't get my nitrates up and my phosphates are stable at .05. I am very happy with that. The corals get mysis and reef roids. I haven't seen a reason to really use anything else. They catch food from when I feed the fish as well.
