Wandering if any of you have an emergency plan for unexpected events:
Return pump goes out
Bulb failure
Skimmer failure
ect.... any of the diaster that can happen.
I am thinking about getting an extra Return pump, RO/DI filters and some Bulbs.
You know it's not if it happens , but when will it happen.
So, does anyone have an emergency plan?

I have a backup generator and a few extra bulbs. I have enough pumps laying around for a backup but nothing if skimmer goes.

I have a spare return pump, and a portable generator. That's it. A bulb goes out, or even if the whole fixture goes out, the tank can easily go several days without lights until a replacement is available. I have multiple powerheads, unlikely all will go out, but if one goes out, the tank will do fine with what's left until a new one comes in. Can't think of anything else you can prepare for.

I have battery operated air bubblers on hand. I also have at least 4 spare power heads just in case something happens to the ones in my tank. I also have a first aid kit dedicated to my seahorses. They are certain things they can come down with and I like to be cautious.

Return pump goes out. Yes, panic
Bulb failure. Yes, panic.
Skimmer failure. Yes, panic.

Haha just kidding. I have LEDs so I don't worry about bulbs for the time being. However I do have a back up light. If the return dies, I would panic, and go to the LFS and buy another. Skimmer failure, no plan for that one. So all in all, no I don't have a lot of back up plans. I do have 15g of RODI stored away, not sure if that counts for anything =P

Yes, I have an extra skimmer in the box. Also an extra return pump in the box. Also have a generator and battery powered pumps. Extra set of lights, check. Also, have a couple extra tanks. Enough saltwater to fill the extra tanks would be a problem. I could get 35 gallons quick enough.
