Do you have multiple test kits for the same parameter?

I just tested my Alk using Salifert and it differs from my Hanna checker by about 1dKh. I was thinking of getting a third kit so I could get another reading.

Do you use just one kit to test your parameters or do you back it up with a second? Anyone else using multiple kits as a cross-check?

(This isn't a question about Hanna v Salifert ;) )

FWIW I use multiple kits---more to help my son get used to different kits (Salifert, NYOS, and Hanna) but so far results have been within bounds. My eyes prefer the NYOS Nitrate results better than the Salifert Nitrate results (on the lower scales) though. If it's Saliert or NYOS against Hanna, we've been pretty consistent or at least close enough that we don't sweat it.

I pick one kit for each parameter, then check it against a reference (LFS or other)
Then I stick with that test
No point worrying too much about small variances between reliable tests

So if your Salifert Alk kit tells you your water is 8.2dKh, and the LFS matches, or another test kit states the same, then stick with it.

If you don't have access to an LFS with reliable tests, then check your first kit with a second brand
