Do you have reservations about placing encrusting corals?

I have some nicer acros like WD, Pink Floyd, SC OP, etc. For some reason I just don't like putting them on my rocks. I don't want them to encrust mainly because I like to move things around and I have a transient lifestyle.

If you let your corals encrust how do you deal with moving? It's easy to pluck off some mushrooms, zoas, acans that are mainly on a frag plug but with the acros I just keep letting them grow on my rack which is an eyesore.

The animals you're caring for do not. Stop moving things around. Allow them to grow naturally.

Sounds like you should set up another tank. Specifically a frag tank. It lets you grow things out and move things around as much as you like. Leave you're display tank alone to fill out naturally, and tinker with the frag tank.

I'm picky about where I put encrusting corals like cyphastrea, encrusting monti but I would never want my branching across to not encrust! It's beautiful and natural.

If you dont like encrusting corals, why do you have them? Lol. Constantly moving things isnt what corals like. Place them or sell them?
