I am just curious if it really matters? I top off .5 Gallons a night on 105 total volume. Probably does not matter, but do have an extra heater.

I don’t heat my ATO water or SW in my auto water change reservoir either. Never noticed any temp changes from either one.

if you heat your ATO reservoir then you will increase precipitation and evaporation. that way you won't know how much water actually went to top off the main DT. also, you will need to add water to reservoir more often.

My tank is only about 5 degrees warmer than my house, so I don't with my 20 cube. It takes about 2-3 weeks to go through a 5 gal reservoir, so not adding much each day and the Duetto ATO is in such a small chamber that it adds about 2 tablespoons of water every couple hours or so. It would all come down to relative volume change, so I think you are probably fine.

That's only about 1/2% of your system volume. Not worth worrying about, as long as you're not pouring cold water directly on your inhabitants.

I do not, nor do is heat the AWC. So little is going in at .5 gal in a 105 that the temp fluctuation is not noticeable. :)

I have a level sensor hooked up to a relay which turns on a pump and adds water from a 55 gallon drum automatically (the ATO water is in a food grade drum and filtered with a RODI). The drum isn't heated, but I do keep it raised off of the cold basement floor. But it calls for water maybe 4 or 5 times a day, and only adds small amounts. Maybe 12 oz at a time in a 100gal~ system.

Seems to work fairly flawlessly.
