If members would add their tank specs in their signature. Things like tank size, sump or refugium and other notable filtration methods, skimmer, lighting and circulation both in tank and return. Feel free to add anything else you may feel to be of importance, the more info the better IMO.

I see where lots of people are seeking advice and typically these are some of the most important (and basic) criteria to know when troubleshooting. Plus it is nice to know what everyone else is doing to run their systems.
For example I am considering a few changes for my system so I actively seek out other members that run a similar size and it would be nice to know what general equipment they use.

Your point is well taken and if people were to do this, it could be useful. I used to have that kind of info in my signature.

On the other hand, I've found many people put the info in their post and then somebody asks for the info because they didn't even read the post carefully! And I know many people (including me) don't always look at the signature.

I would think as the practice gains popularity people would become accustomed to it and instinctively look for the info. I recall you from RC as I came from there as well and this was more the norm there.

i'd rather just a link and I (or they) can check out mine (or their) build as they please.

You'll find that everyone runs something different. Many similarities but too many differences to glean a "what's right across the board" generalization.

Not looking for whats right per say just general insight to the individuals system.

Thats a great idea but a lot of people especially novices seeking advice dont have build threads. I'm sure there are a lot of technically challenged aquarists out there who are pretty much incapable of doing this as well as this is the category that I myself fall into and I can speak from personal experience here. Its nice to be able to see their system specs right there attached to the thread and not have to link elsewhere to find the info. Just my opinion really.

Equipment or parameters?
I would say equipment as parameters seem to be ever changing (again especially where novices are concerned) However if you are keeping stabile parameters I see no reason not to include them if one desired to, that or maybe "target levels"

Simple enough. I'll ablige.

Lets see if it catches on.

EDIT: signature characters way too limited to list equipment

Many members have links to their build threads where all that information and more can be found. There is another thread (Build 365 or something similar) that encourages this.
