Do you need expensive saw to frag?

I have multi head torch’s and hammers I want to frag. Do I need to buy a $300-$400 saw for this?

Really depends on how split they are, saws are a huge improvement in ease of cutting and I get cleaner and healthier frags with less heal time. I could never cut half of the frags I cut without my saw. If you have long stocks then you may be able to get by with bone cutters but if they are barley split then a saw will be the way to go

I just use bone cutters. Don't try to cut through the whole branch in one go as you'll shatter it. Instead, nip away at the outside and it will eventually break away.

A gryphon wil be on my christmas list for santy clawz though

You can buy a good band saw for under 200 at home depot or lowes

Dont use bone cutters it can shatter the skeleton, you dont need a band saw but you need a cutting tool like a dremal, or hand saw

I do it all the time doesn't put off anymore moisture than spraying a blade with lube when it gets warm cutting steal or something

Its salt water though so unless youre cleaning it after each use, youll end up with some good corrosion.

I cant even wipe my bone cutters after each use LOL.

As for branching hammers, I’ve always just snapped with my fingers. Dozens and dozens of times. Never had an issue.

There is a handful of features the gryphon aqua saw has that a traditonal band saw does not.
Its not necissarily absolutely needed but its designed for this specific purpose.
Corrosion resistance, water reservoir, motor located at the top, away from any water.....

As said before i use a dremel tool.
But i also use the flex extension so theres no danger of salt spray fouling up the motor/shaft.
