Hi everyone. I've been using Tank Transfer Method and Prazi as a quarantine approach for Ich and Flukes. This has been pretty successful for wrasse, tangs and butterflies.

I usually treat for flukes with Prazi on the second and 4th transfer. The last few quarantines I have done I have been freshwater dipping between all transfers. I have noticed that after treating with Prazi on the second transfer I don't see any flukes coming off the fish when I fresh water dip.

Is a second Prazi treatment really necessary when this is the case?

The 2nd dose is actually for any hatching eggs. Eggs are not affected and would hatch after the effectiveness of the 1st dose. Im not that experienced with ttm, but with my understanding, there may not be eggs present because of the transfer method. Its probably not worth the risk to skip it.

The second dose is done 5-7 days later allowing time for any new flukes to hatch and then be destroyed by the Prazi. Doing the second dose too soon might miss the new hatchlings as they begin to emerge.
