Hello everyone,

I live in NYC winter is around the corner, I currently have a JBJ 1/10 Chiller connected to submersible return pump completely independent of my main return Pump. My concern is what do you guys do with your chiller during winter ? I am trying to reduce excessive electricity of the extra pump being on. I was thinking of hard plumb my return and connect my chiller to it.

I turn my chiller off in the winter
The way I have mine set up is when I shut down the pump water continues to backflow through the chiller to keep a small amount of water flowing through it till summer.
Every now and then I have to bump the pump to push any air out as to not break the siphon

I remove mine from both systems in the fall. It's a good time to flush them and remove salt and sediment from the exchangers. Then they're fresh and clean in the spring.

I did this when I had a chiller on my system.

Thanks everyone for your input, this weekend I will disconnect mine and clean it. I know I wont use it until next summer.
