I think it looks very healthy. Welcome to R2R!

Welcome!

I would say it looks content lol. I do not see the mouth gaping open- also it looks to be open and not all closed up - I think it looks ok to me.

I can’t see flow, and not sure what you have in regards to lighting, or your water parameters, but just from the photo, I do not see anything that I would consider “alarming”.

happy reefing

I guess I just see cyano which makes me think there’s low current (Possibly) with a yellowish tint to the water (could just be the photo) which makes me wonder what lighting it’s under.....also wondering how long ago did you set up the tank because the anemone is the only livestock I see in the provided pictures. Also how long ago was it added?

Having said that, sorry to answer your actual question and welcome, blah, blah, blah!

Someone should start a thread on anthromorphization of reef inhabitants

It looks like it is focused on it's foot now, that usually makes them flatten out alittle at the top but it will perk up again when it has finished digging in.

These anemones are good at around 200par.

If actually turns pale/whitish you would probably notice it and still have time to change the lighting, so I would not worry about it much.

With the rock formation like that, the anemone would probably take to settle in a corner so if you want to resettle it you should probably do it now, while it does not disturb too much to reshape the formation.

I just leave my anemone alone. Hell stay in one spot then move around a bit. I have a condy anemone. Whos really purple. When i got him he was all white. Now hes a nice purple color. Sometimes he will go in complete shade on the bottom and stay there for a long time.. other times hell go up rocks in the direct light.
