Just curious today I was cleaning out my fish supply cabinet and I was wondering if maybe I went a little overboard with testing supplies, but I use it all some are for fast testing and others are for if I get a weird reading I bust out the really good ones like my Elos or Salifert and last but not least my Red sea pro kit either way who else has as much as me or am I just weird with it? In my opinion it is good if not great to have as much reliable testing kits as I have, I think of it as a form of quality control for my hard worked and money well spent passion known as saltwater reef tank's. let me know if it is a little much. this is just for a a giggle to make fun of my self.

Just watch the expiration dates. I don't know how "bad" test kits really go, but i've heard they are not going to be as accurate as they get older.
I started with the API kits so I have all those. I then tried the red sea kit and was not entirely satisfied with them. I have now switched to the salifert tests. I think I'll stick with those.
I'm surprised you don't have any Hanna meters there. I really like their Alk tester.

I am looking at getting all Hanna meters when I run out of it all, I like the Salifert but if you want a really good one in my opinion try Elos, The Elos are quick except MG but no MG test is fast and they are alos super easy to read and really accurate, I like the Red Sea especially KH, and the I2 is also easy to read and to test, The big box to left of the pic is all Hagen it was a good test but like you said they go ( bad ) and they seemed to go that way rather quickly after opening specially the Ammonia and ph of all things, and they are not the easiest to tell the colors apart but still a good test kit with patience needed for sure. I use the API for quick testing.

Wow, You would laugh if you seen my test kit supply. (Bottle of test strips That havent been opened yet) As long as my coral is happy and do reg WC's I dont test my water. It is an established system, though.

ha ha show off! I would love to have 1/2 of those kits why the oxygen kit ?
I use this only when I have to treat the tank for cyano since your supposed to keep the oxygen level up but turn off you skimmer with the chemipure I use, so to see if the o2 level stays up I test for it, but I do not have to treat the tank that often only twice in 2 years thankfully since both the treatment and the test are a big pain in the butt.

I would rather be safe than sorry. You can never be to safe when it comes to your tank. We put thousands into them and never know when the tank Gods are going to be angered. I'd rather have double of each than none
