It came on some Florida live rock. Lasted for 4 months and then just disappeared on me. I thought either shroom or anemone. It even appears to have had some bounce to it....lol

That's really interesting! I'm not sure... It looks like a shroom. Is that a flatworm or something on it, or is that just the coloration?

That orange band was part of it and it had it until it vanished. The whole thing was just a little bigger than a quarter. It was about the size of a dime when I first got the rock.

Huh, that's really weird... It looks like a mushroom but the circumstances are pretty odd. I'll have to stick around to see if anyone can ID this haha.

did it detach and move to another area in the tank?

I believe it could move some. There were a few holes by its spot and I think it would move between them. Back last April I went away over Easter and the lights in the tank got left on for 4 straight days. The tank is a biocube and at that time I was using the hood and the temp in the tank rose up to 84. When I got home and saw what happened I never saw it again.

I would check in the back recesses of your rockwork. When shrooms get unhappy they move to weird spots
