Do you turn Off your Equipment when Dosing things?

For instance - Calcium, PH Buffer, Amino Acids / Trace Elements, and Reef Roids Coral Food.

Those are the four things that I Dose Twice a Week.

Before I Dose I turn off my Filter, Protein Skimmer, and UV Sterilizer.

The reason that I turn this stuff off is because I am worried that the equipment will take the stuff I Dose out of my system and my Corals will not get any of it.

I came to this conclusion because a lot of things like say Ich Medication or Chemi-Clean specifically say to turn all this stuff off and take out any Carbon since it will prevent the medicine from working.

But do I have to worry about it with Calcium, PH Buffer, Amino Acids / Trace Elements, and Reef Roids Coral Food.

I turn off everything except my Power Heads then I dose at night.

I turn everything back on in the morning.

I like to give my aquarium 8 to 12 hours without the equipment so everything reaches the Corals.

Do you guys recommend this or am I just being Paranoid?

What do you guys do when you Dose?

I only turn off equipment when I feed. I have pipefish in my reef , along with a mandarin so I like to give those slower swimming guys a chance to be able to catch some of the food. When it comes to dosing, I never turn anything off - mainly because I'm never home when the dosing takes place (dosing pumps). I did use some chemiclean recently , and I did turn my skimmer off for 2 days. My reactors have ball valves so they are easily taken off line for things such as chemiclean. ( I took that time to replace my carbon & GFO , so that everything would be fresh when I put them back online) Also when my dosing pumps come on, there is a 30 minute delay between the two to ensure that chemical 1 is fully dissolved into the system before the next is added.
